Crafting An Heirloom

March 27, 2019

Just over a year ago two dear friends were married. They wanted to do something special for their honeymoon. We chatted about them coming to visit us and do a Silversmithing workshop to make a silver keepsake – something unique they would treasure and hold dear to mark such a celebration in their lives. We decided on two silver bowls, each of them would learn how to hand raise the bowl from flat sheet into the finished three-dimensional form.

For their 1st wedding anniversary I designed and printed a photo journal documenting the two days they spent in the workshop crafting their silver bowls. A beautiful accompaniment to their precious pieces.

It was so special to have them in the workshop to make such a beautiful piece and to learn a new skill -- and a few weeks later they did head off on their honeymoon, part 2, in the Barossa in South Australia.

We run a program of workshops and classes through our other business, Pocket Studio. We have developed a range of traditional silversmithing and jewellery classes where we share our love for our craft from our own metalsmithing workshop. You can find out more about what's on offer here.
